Competition Rules for 2025 SIGP Sunpadow International RC On-Road Grand Prix
I. Competition Rules:
1. All participating vehicles must meet technical requirements. Vehicles that place in the rankings are subject to re-inspection. Vehicles violating technical standards will have their results for the respective round(s) disqualified.
2. Each competitor may use only one RC vehicle per round, and each vehicle may only be operated by one competitor. Mid-race vehicle swaps, battery replacements, or remote control device changes will result in disqualification of the competitor’s results for that round.
3. All vehicle repairs must be conducted in the designated pit area.
4. Competitors must adhere to the pre-announced race schedule. If a competitor fails to reach the starting position after the starting signal, referees reserve the right to refuse entry, and the competitor’s round will be forfeited.
5. In electric-powered vehicle events, competitors may bring one assistant into the competition area for starting assistance and repairs. In internal combustion engine vehicle events, competitors may bring two assistants. Exceeding the allowed number of assistants will result in disqualification of the competitor’s results for that round.
6. If a competitor laps behind by one full lap, fails to yield to faster vehicles, and is penalized with a stop-and-go, a subsequent violation will result in immediate disqualification and removal from the track.
7. Competitors or assistants failing to wear competition badges, or act as pit assistants when not racing, vehicles without assigned numbers, altered or mismatched numbers, or use of another competitor’s vehicle will result in disqualification of the results for that round.
8. The use of pirated or counterfeit vehicle bodies is strictly prohibited. Violators will have their results disqualified.
9. The organizing committee reserves the right to adjust race schedules, ranking criteria, or competition details in response to venue conditions, weather changes, or unforeseen circumstances. Unlisted details will be clarified during competitor briefings.
II. 1/10 Scale Electric Touring Car Racing Competition Rules:
1. Technical Standards for Modified Vehicles:
① Independent suspension and four-wheel drive are mandatory.
② Chassis brands are unrestricted but must comply with IFMAR-specified exterior dimensions.
③ Only IFMAR-compliant body shells are permitted. Shells must retain a 4-door sedan appearance, windows, and a rear spoiler, with a maximum width within 195 mm. Spoiler may not exceed the body’s width or height and is limited to one per vehicle. Body shells must be painted; transparent shells or simple sticker decals are prohibited. Windows must remain transparent or translucent, with headlights indicated via stickers or paint.
④ The total weight of the vehicle (excluding the timer) must not be less than 1,300 grams.
⑤ Electronic speed controllers (ESCs) and motors are unrestricted but must use brushless motors compliant with IFMAR 1/10 electric touring car specifications.
⑥ Battery brands and capacities are unrestricted but must include original protective casings. The maximum pre-race voltage is limited to 8.42V, measured by event officials using a designated voltmeter.
⑦ No additional batteries for the receiver or servo are allowed beyond the main power battery.
⑧ During the event (including control practice), competitors must use event-specified and -sold RUSH 34X VR3 tires.
2. Technical Standards for Stock Racing Vehicles
① Independent suspension and four-wheel drive are mandatory.
② Chassis brands are unrestricted but must comply with IFMAR-specified exterior dimensions.
③ Only IFMAR-compliant body shells are permitted. Shells must retain a 4-door sedan appearance, windows, and a rear spoiler, with a maximum width within 195 mm. Spoiler may not exceed the body’s width or height and is limited to one per vehicle. Body shells must be painted; transparent shells or simple sticker decals are prohibited. Windows must remain transparent or translucent, with headlights indicated via stickers or paint.
④ The total weight of the vehicle (excluding the timer) must not be less than 1,300 grams.
⑤ ESCs (Electronic Speed Controller) are unrestricted. EFRA-certified 13.5T sensored brushless motors and rotors must be used. The event organizer will inspect and label qualifying motors before the race and conduct post-race spot checks on motors used by Group A competitors. If any motor is found to be non-compliant, the competitor’s results will be disqualified.
⑥ Battery brands and capacities are unrestricted but must include original protective casings. The maximum pre-race voltage is limited to 8.42V, measured by event officials using a designated voltmeter.
⑦ No additional batteries for the receiver or servo are allowed beyond the main power battery.
⑧ During the event (including control practice), competitors must use event-specified and -sold RUSH 34X VR3 tires.
3. Competition Rules:
① Each round lasts 5 minutes. Control practice consists of 2 rounds, with the fastest 3 consecutive laps determining the heat ranking. 4 qualifying rounds are held, with the best 2 scores used to determine the overall ranking and qualification for group finals. Final A (top 10 from qualifying): Runs 3 rounds. Positions are scored as 1st=1 point, 2nd=2 points, ..., 10th=10 points. The sum of the best 2 rounds determines the final ranking. Ties are broken by: Higher single-round score. If still tied, the best lap time from any round. Final B: Runs 2 rounds, with the best single-round score determining the ranking. Ties are broken by lap time. Other finals: Run 1 round, ranked by lap time.
② Tires, battery, voltage, appearance, body dimensions, and weight are inspected before each round. Post-race, vehicles must be immediately submitted for inspection. Non-compliance or failure to inspect disqualifies the round’s results.
③ Competitors must serve as track marshalls immediately after each round. Exemptions require prior approval from the referee and substitution by another person.
④ Intentional collisions regardless of it resulting in a track position gain or dangerous driving will result in verbal warnings, "Stop & Go" penalty or a time/lap penalty determined by the referee/director. Repeat offenses may result in disqualification or the competitor’s best result. During "Stop & Go," assistants may not repair or refuel the vehicle.
⑤ If a competitor overtakes after colliding with another vehicle, they must stop and wait for the overtaken vehicle to proceed before restarting. Failure to yield back position will result in penalty decided by race referee/director. Vehicles leaving the track due to accidents or mechanical issues must rejoin the original racing line.
⑥ Lapped vehicles must yield to vehicles leading by one full lap.
III. 1/8 Scale Internal Combustion Engine Vehicle On-Road Racing Competition Rules:
1. Technical Standards for Racing Vehicles:
① Independent suspension and four-wheel drive are mandatory.
② On-road body shell width must be ≤277mm.
③ Internal combustion engine cylinder displacement must be ≤3.5cc (21-class). Fuel capacity from the tank to the carburetor inlet must be ≤125cc (including filter).
④ Total vehicle weight (excluding fuel and timer) must not be less than 2,450 grams.
⑤ Electric starting devices are prohibited.
⑥ IFMAR-compliant body shells must retain the original model’s shape, windows, and rear spoiler. Shells must be painted; transparent shells or simple stickers are not allowed.
⑦ From control practice onward, competitors must use event-specified and -sold HOT Race foam tires.
2. Competition Rules:
① Control practice and preliminaries use rolling starts. Finals use standing starts. Control practice: 2 rounds, 7 minutes each. Fastest 3 consecutive laps determine heat ranking. Qualify: 3 rounds, 7 minutes each with 3 minutes warmup. Best single-round score determines ranking. Finals: Adopt a double-sided Christmas tree elimination format: Top Qualifier (TQ) + top 4 from A/B 1/2 finals + fastest 5th place advance to the Grand Final. 1/4 Finals: Top 4 from A/B advance to 1/2 Finals. 1/8 Finals: Top 4 from A/B advance to 1/4 Finals, and so on.
② Duration of finals:
Grand Final: 45 minutes; 1/2 Finals: 30 minutes; 1/4 Finals and below: 15 minutes.
③ After a warm-up lap, vehicles are held by assistants at designated starting positions. The starter counts down from 10 to 3, at which point assistants release the vehicles without touching them. Racing begins on the timing signal.
④ Each competitor may have 1–2 assistants during races.
⑤ All repairs or refueling must occur in the pit lane. Assistants may return vehicles to the pit lane without obstructing others.
⑥ Repairs or refueling conducted on the track result in a "Stop & Go" penalty.
⑦ Vehicles leaving the track due to accidents or mechanical issues must rejoin the original racing line.
⑧ Intentional collisions regardless of it resulting in a track position gain or dangerous driving will result in verbal warnings, "Stop & Go" penalty or a time/lap penalty determined by the referee/director. IV. 1/8 Scale Internal Combustion Engine GT Touring Car Racing Competition Rules:
1. Technical Standards for Racing Vehicles:
① Independent suspension, four-wheel drive, and shaft-driven chassis are mandatory. Only centrifugal clutches are permitted; paddle clutches are prohibited. Brand restrictions do not apply.
② Body shell width must be ≤310mm, with a wheelbase of 270–379mm. Body shell thickness must exceed 0.8mm. Chassis height (with body shell and rear wing installed) must be ≤250mm. Rear wing maximum width: 217mm. Wing chord (front-to-back depth) maximum: 77mm.
③ Fuel tank capacity must be ≤150cc (including filter).
④ No additional attachments are permitted except for the fuel line.
⑤ Internal combustion engine cylinder displacement must be ≤3.5cc (21-class with 5 ports or fewer). On-road engines are prohibited.
⑥ Total vehicle weight (excluding fuel and timer) must not be less than 3,500 grams.
⑦ Electric starting devices are prohibited.
⑧ Retain original model’s shape, windows, and rear spoiler. Front window opening must not exceed 10mm. Fuel filler hole on the roof: ≤50mm. Front window air intake: ≤80mm. Engine igniter hole: ≤35mm. Carburetor main needle adjustment hole: ≤15mm. Antenna hole: ≤10mm. VDS-style (forklift-style) body shells are prohibited.
⑨ Body shells (any brand) must be painted; transparent shells or simple sticker decals are not allowed.
⑩ From control practice onward, competitors must use event-specified and -sold HOT Race tires (to protect the track, slick tires are prohibited).
2. Competition Rules:

V. Event-Specified Tires and Control Rules:
1. 1/10 Scale Electric Touring Car Racing:

② Final A participants may receive 1 additional new tire set.
③ Competitors must purchase up to 4 sets at the tire sales area before control practice. After inspection, tires are labeled, numbered, sealed, and stored by event staff. All tires are returned post-event.
④ Tires are collected 2 groups in advance for installation in a designated area before entering the tire soaking zone.
⑤ A tire soaking zone is provided on-site with complimentary [MR33 V3] tire soak. Usage begins at the start of the preceding heat and ends at its conclusion. (no tire warmers allowed);
⑥ Tires are removed in a designated area post-race and returned to staff.
⑦ A tire sales area will operate on-site starting [Month] [Date] for practice tire purchases.
2. 1/8 Scale Internal Combustion Engine Vehicle On-Road Racing:

② Competitors must purchase 5 sets at the tire sales area before control practice. After inspection, tires are labeled, numbered, sealed, and stored by event staff. Additional tires may be purchased during the event but must be sealed on-site with the competitor’s number, and handed to the event staff.
③ Tires are collected 2 groups in advance for installation in a designated area before racing.
④ Tires are removed in a designated area post-race and returned to staff. Used tires leaving the area may not be reused. All tires are returned to the competitors post-event.
⑦ A tire sales area will operate on-site starting 16/6 for practice tire purchases.
3. 1/8 Scale Internal Combustion Engine GT Touring Car Racing:

⑤ Tire soaking and warmers are prohibited.
⑥ Tires are removed in a designated area post-race and returned to staff.
⑦ A tire sales area will operate on-site starting 16/6 for practice tire purchases.
